I had a leak that was destroying my ceiling and after 4 different companies gave me insanely outrageous bids (without even being able to guarantee that the source of the leak would be resolved) Abraham came out promptly, gave me a more than reasonable quote and told me exactly what the issue was and how it will be resolved. The guys who did the work (the 2 Juans) were amazing! They showed up on time every day, made sure they kept all areas clean, were so respectful of my space and did SUCH meticulous work, youd think they were working on their own home. They finished the job in 8 days as promised when all other companies told me it would take at least 2-3 weeks. They also didnt ask for payment until after the work was completed and I was satisfied. As a homeowner for 10 years, Ive NEVER encountered a company more honest, fair and detail oriented than Capital Decking and especially Abraham. You wont regret hiring them!!

CAPITAL DECK & STAIR WATERPROOFING replaced my slate deck with a waterproof deck and joint work to mimic this late. They replaced rotted wood and did a very proper job creating a beautiful result. I have been in ARCHITECT for four decades and I’m a discerning customer and they did everything to high level of quality. I highly recommend them.

We needed to waterproof the entire walkway of our apartment building as well as some stairs in the front & back of the walkway after the rains caused some damage. i met with a few different waterproofing companies but we decided to go with capital deck & stair after meeting with abraham...who was so helpful & informative. his pricing was reasonable & he was also great at answering all of my following up questions via text, which i really appreciated. after a couple delays in the work due to rain, we finally did the 3 day job and it turned out great. abraham came over afterwards to look at a couple areas with pain splatter and he offered to send his foreman cesar back to fix it...which he did. no arguments...just wanted to make things perfect. awesome customer service!

We just completed a major home project that included the replacement of our old wooden balcony railing with a new iron railing. We received quotes from other vendors that were similar to Capital’s quote but we chose Capital based upon their high customer ratings. We made an excellent decision.Despite all the rain in Souther California, the folks at Capital made time between the showers to complete the job in a timely manner. Abraham Handler and Martin, the project Forman, worked hard to make sure the project was done professionally and with the highest quality of materials. We had a few issues due to the prior design of our old railings and Abraham and Martin worked hard to insure the project was done right.We highly recommend Capital Deck & stair.

We met with, and received bids from six companies to replace our old waterproofing coating on our two small balconies. After some careful consideration, we chose Capital Deck. Our estimator was Abraham, and he took his time when meeting with us, to explain the process, and answer all my questions. HIs estimate was not the lowest, but it was reasonably close to the lowest. Several of the estimates were considerably higher. In the end, we based the decision on our impression that Abraham would make sure we were happy with the final product. As it turned out, we had a very positive experience working with Abraham, and the entire crew from Capital Deck that worked on our balconies. Cesar, Antonio, and Robert were all very helpful, and kept us informed every step of the process. They were very careful working around our property, and delivered a very high quality product. Every few years we have to re-coat the roof decks and balcony on our house. This time we were concerned that there was some damage due to wear and weather. We contacted Capital Deck and quickly got a quote from Abraham, which was very reasonable. We got some other quotes, and decided to hire Capital Deck to do the work. Two of the areas needed to be completely resurfaced. One of them had some significant water damage after 15 years. Capital Deck repaired the damaged area and installed the new decking material on the two areas. They also re-coated another area that had no damage. They did quality work all the way through, and were very pleasant and professional to deal with. I highly recommend them to anyone with with roof decks and balconies.

What an amazing company. From start to end. Talking to them was super joyful. I was very impress by the customer service from Abraham Handler, he answered all my calls and all my questions, he was very sweet, easy going but very professional and knowledgeable. I had to reschedule work 2 or 3 times and Abraham was very open and very easy to help me with my needs. Philip was a great help. He fixed my sun deck when he realized it was broken, when his employees were only supposed to come in and fix my balcony leak. Was truly helpful and nice. You can tell him and his team are passionate about their job/profession. They were there to help my family and I at any time of the day and i appreciated that. We also have warranty on this project, in case something happens. The process took a couple of weeks and was hard with meeting both of our schedules, but we always made it work somehow and just like that... its done. Thanks

Capital deck was great. Overall i would give them 5 stars. Philip was great in assisting me. They have such fast responses and are great at answering all questions you have throughout the day. They helped fix my balcony leak. Finished it in about a week…I was amazing by how professional and quick they were. No wonder they have such amazing reviews on yelp. After coming to a conclusion and trying to work with different companies, I’ve realized how cooperative and great of a company capital deck is compared to the rest. I haven’t had a good experience with anyone else. Others were overestimating, weren’t knowledgeable etc. It’s really important for me to hire someone who knows what they are doing, especially if i’m not informed on the subject.. Whatever I do/believe in i put my all into it. So if you work in a specific field, i would want you to know everything about it.I felt that Capital Deck & Philip were the best to work with. After a month long of renovations, I can now tell you about my experience.I had a great one. They were super helpful, always on time and around the clock. I always offered them food & drinks just because they just seemed so sincere. They taught me a lot about capital decks and restoration waterproofing. Which is what we did in this specific project as we wanted a newly improved patio deck!

I dealt with Andre mostly, but also was in touch with Mario and Jose. You know what I loved about Capital deck? Well ill tell you anyways. Capital deck and stair waterproofing has been great for me and my family. My parents have been looking for a great company to work with because the last one did a botched job. Capital deck promised us a warranty as well on our balcony leak and stair waterproofing, which is great and wasn’t promised from the last company. I guess you have to live and learn and make mistakes before finding the right company..? Unfortunately, we had to put down twice the money just because we’re paying for the job again, and through a different company, but lots of people are saying its well worth it.I guess nothing can go wrong either because there’s a warranty. I’ve had the pleasure of working this out with Philip, especially when it came down to prices. Please use them for any needs. We used them almost a month ago and are satisfied so far with the results.

It took me so long to trust in a company given my previous experiences. Capital deck came at the perfect time.I was previously looking up a place to fix a leak we had. Our balconies were basically brand new in no time because of Andre and their hard work.I was watching the whole process. It was interesting to see and experience this. I’ve had the privilege of being family friends with Philip and his family for a while. He came over the other day and mentioned that he saw a leak in our balcony and he would have his team come in and check it out in a couple of days. They came in and he was right. Andre and Orlando were just great workers to have around, probably the best. They would always call me in case anything happened and kept me updated throughout the job. It took about a week and a half I believe? Pricing was great too, but for me quality is more important.I believe in spending a little more, so that way you don’t get ****** in the end !! We used Capital Deck & Stair Waterpoofing to waterproof a large deck at our house on PCA. Being directly in front of the water causes many maintenance issues, including leaks from the deck into the room below.We experienced another leak and because of the warranty that came with our deck, Andre and his crew came out to test the deck. It was clear that the leak did not come from the deck they resurfaced but from the roof.Their responsiveness and customer service is excellent. Thanks, Andre.

2020. New year, but still had some damages. Had capital deck come out as soon as they cold to fix my balcony leak. They were quick on their feet and great with pricing (it was my first time doing this, so it seemed good with the prices they gave me). Quotes were handled quickly as well as having great customer service. Esepcially for this time of year. Impressed!

I had so much fun working with Philip last week. I knew i had to come in and write a review for them. My dad had used them and I would sneakily go downstairs just out of curiosity to learn the business and how it works. I was really hesitant having my family bring in employees due to COVID 19, but we had no choice. We made sure to go over the guidelines on the phone with the company to rest assure that we would fix our leak, but also remain in a distance, making sure they took temperature checks and have previously checked to see if their employees had COVID or not. We took this seriously, but after we saw results and the precautions Capital deck took we loved them and their work. They were responsible, on time, had proper gear and had 1 employee work unless it was necessary to have 2, which wasn’t often. Great services to use in need.

Philip came out to my place this past week. They seemed like a company that i would be interested in. Many great reviews and not too many companies that do the same as well, but they came highly recommended. They promised me a proposal by Friday and I got it on time. I plan on having them come and fix my sun deck during the big break in a few months, unless I need them to come asap.They mentioned it wasn’t urgent. So I trust them, but they did mention to give them constant updates. So I will follow up in a few months once everything is in place and settled!

Made an appointment to get a quote. Contractor didnt even show. When I called, dispatch told me the person had car issues and tow truck was towing his car. That means the contractor had over 30 minutes notice that they couldnt make the appointment and never bothered calling the customer. Weird, every time I get a no show from a contractor, they say they have car issues.

Im so happy I get to share my experience with everyone here. Wish I had a yelp account to post this on as well. We are so grateful for Abraham and his expert crew caring so much to do a through job of waterproofing our 2nd story terrace that had been leaking into the house so badly it had caused the ceiling in main bathroom to fall down (see photo #1 below). They made it more water tight than the original construction. All the former leaky spots in 1st story main bedroom and bathroom walls, ceilings, and beams, even with big rains!. We are in a state of happy shock. Abraham worked around our budget constraints and scheduling needs but still provided an expert craftsman who could deliver a beautiful smooth trowel finish with tile-like grid lines to match or architectural style (see photo #2 below). His crew were extra helpful to us and didn’t mind any number of questions about the process. We are so thankful we hired this team and they more than satisfied our tricky needs, such as shortening the original wood clad siding to make room for flashing and waterproofing below it - chef’s kiss!!

Five stars for Capital Deck! Prior to meeting Capital, my townhouse complex needed to repair the walking rooftop decks. We hired another company who promised to waterproof the decks. Long story short, the original work took much longer than expected (over a year) and the work was extremely problematic- both aesthetically and functionally. The roofs leaked and had numerous issues.Fast forward to finding Capital Deck and Abraham. When I told Abraham about what had occurred with our rooftops, he was compassionate and so helpful in making a plan to fix the problem. Abraham assured me our experience would be vastly different than our original experience- and Capital completely delivered! Capital completed the entire project promptly and did an outstanding job. The decks are beautiful and functional. After having such a terrible experience and being worried about finding a new company to work on our deck, it was refreshing to meet an honest company that cares about their work. The communication and entire experience was 5 star.

Abraham Handler is a LIFESAVER. We’d only recently moved in before the historic rains revealed our wrap around balcony was a rotting leaky disaster. We had to demolish multiple moldy ceilings, my kids were sleeping on the couch and grandma in a storage room.Luckily I called Shelby at Capital Deck & Stair. Despite being booked for weeks, she connected me with Abraham who miraculously appeared at my doorstep the SAME day. He took one look at our rain buckets and plastic sheeting and moved mountains to start the job ONE week later.They took NO money upfront, and the final bill came out thousands less than their estimate. Cesar and his crew could have replaced everything per the contract, but they were able to preserve all of the flashing which also saved us from costly stucco repairs.We initially had to cancel a contract with a well-known company who asked for a 40% deposit. This is ILLEGAL, but I paid it in good faith only to be given a date seven weeks out. Infuriating!We are so grateful to everyone at Capital Deck & Stair. They are trustworthy and I have no doubt they will stand by their 8 year warranty. Highly recommend.

I cannot be happier for choosing Capital Deck for my roof deck waterproofing project. We had a very badly leaking, roughly 700 square foot roof deck that that we needed to fix as it was causing water intrusion into our living area. I received over a dozen quotes from other companies and got very deep into researching all kinds of waterproofing systems and their pros/cons and maintenance costs (which can be significant!). After all of that, I can confidently say that I received the highest value work for a very reasonable price.The first thing that stood out is Abraham. Throughout the project, he was unusually thoughtful, sincere, responsive and extremely transparent. When he came to look at the project we discussed what I likely needed, and what I did not, and what may come up that we can address if required. He also was honest about what maintenance would look like, and how I could maintain the deck surface this myself (this is a big deal since others companies typically require that you to keep using their services just for periodic resurfacing!) Unlike other companies, I never got the feeling that I was been sold a worst case estimate, and I was literally stunned to hear that Capital Deck would only bill me for work after it was completed. Who does that?Capital Decks installation crew was also first rate. Gerardo and Gustavo came out and quickly set to work. They were professional and very methodical about their work. My deck happened to need quite a bit of wood replacement and they took care of that and addressed sloping issues that existed. I was especially relieved that Gerardo was able to waterproof around the door (without having to remove it as some contractors insisted was necessary). Overall, I got the sense that they are very experienced and knew exactly what they were doing.At the end of the day, we have a great newly resurfaced deck and we can now sleep easy the next time we get crazy winter rains! Bottom line: If you need a waterproofing company, look no further!

I highly recommend Capital. We recently purchased our home, and there was significant water damage to the large balcony off the main bedroom, which was noted in the inspection report as a hazard. Phil at Capital came out to assess the situation and said while it wasnt unsafe, there were pieces of wood that needed to be replaced, and that the surface needed to be waterproofed. At the same time, we were having a spiral staircase installed off the balcony to the back yard below, which complicated the timing of the project. Phil was very patient, waiting a few months and coordinating with the stair guy. The result was definitely worth the wait. The balcony looks fantastic and matches the staircase perfectly. Phil kept me informed throughout the entire project and was always easy to reach. While it wasnt cheap, when it comes to a project like this, you get what you pay for. And we got a great result.

Our back deck stairs clearly needed repairing and after some research we called Capital Deck for an estimate. The whole process was very easy and efficient. Abraham Handler came to do an estimate but warned us that when they removed the bad wood more damage might be revealed - turned out to be an understatement! But the additional cost to completely remove and rebuild the stairs was very reasonable and the work was clearly top quality. The lead, Daniel, is a real artist and its a pleasure to see him deal with every problem with apparent ease. The result, including new coating for the stairs and the deck, is really good. I cant recommend them enough. Unlike most contractors they didnt ask for any deposit or progress payments but would just bill after all the work was completed. Even though the necessary repairs needed more material than they bid, they are sticking to the original quote. Just a pleasure to deal with.

So not too long ago I got introduced to Philip. Funny how things work, that when he explained his business to me then I didn’t think i would need his services….until now! Andre came in to give my family and I a quote.He explained everything that went wrong before hand and what we could do to fix it. From this point on, Capital Deck & Stair Waterproofing has been great.I emailed/messaged Capital Deck through yelp & Philip messaged me right away. He was super quick, easy, and nice. He told me he could come in Saturday (two days after I messaged them through yelp). Funny enough, he remembered me!His employees were just as professional as he was throughout the ENTIRE job. We were all blown away by how great of a company they were and how they have lots of manners. We got a quote right after the estimate and booked them not because of the price, but because they seemed to have a well-put company.

They replaced/repaired a small deck (8 x 6) that had been leaking through the door threshold and then down into the walls of the floor below. They werent the cheapest but in the middle range of the 3 or 4 bids I got. They did excellent work. And we water tested the results over a number of days, checking the wall with an excellent moisture meter. Nothing. They stand by their work with an 8 year warranty. Andre, the project manager/estimator was excellent to work with, as was Shelby, manning the office. Would use them again.

I realized how important it is to choose a good company so things dont pop up quicker in the future. Capital deck did just that. They fulfilled every need we needed to be done all in a matter of 2 and a half weeks. Other places my dad and I called estimated about a month, maybe longer. My dad needed his office as soon as possible, so capital deck was our only option and was a good one.

My parent’s balcony was leaking. So i decided to call up one of my friends who knew of a great company. He gave me Philips number and here we are! We finished using their services about a month ago and I will say they did a beautiful job. Kind of like no one was here to begin with. Water is truly the enemy.. When anything damaged involved water don’t wait to get anything repaired. That’s the advice I can give to you. I had the pleasure of working alongside with Capital deck for almost a month now on a bunch of repairs in my house. It’s been a nightmare, but Capital deck has made it completely easy. Such an easy process with them. No drama. No one was messy/late. Great quality work.Forgive me for forgetting the workers names, but I wanted to mention how nice and caring these people were. I only have great things to say about this company, especially about Andre.I have never met another person as sweet, organized, and thoughtful than Andre himself.I had a couple problems within my parents house. Sun deck and needed to get rid of the leak on our stairs as well. Didn’t know something good go wrong so quickly and at the same time, but i guess it was better to get it all done at once than just having repairs every few months. It’s hectic. Won’t lie about that.But their services are A1! I suggest you give them a call if you ever need any type of help. Obviously help that’s within their services haha.

Philip was a pleasure to work with. It was great to finally interact with a company who is professional and willing to help their customers no matter what. I felt that with them and felt that it was genuine as well. I had a small issue and me and Philip quickly spoke about it and resolved it in no time. i appreciated him and his great services

Very cooperative and great workers. Used it to waterproof my stairs and they always come on time and work efficiently. Payed a decent amount and will use again for garage floors and further deck waterproofing! Didnt have any leaks necessarily but would cover and repair everything

Came out and wrote an estimate two weeks ago. Have been chasing after him for two weeks to get him to respond and schedule the work. If I have to chase after you endlessly before you have my money, God knows once you have my money, youll be a nightmare to deal with. I guess its a good thing they showed their true face before we started doing business. My recommendation:. Skip this company. Find a responsive adult instead!The companys response is disingenuous and misleading. I never made you a low ball offer as you dishonestly state. I just asked you to give me a real estimate not the open ended so called proposal which would expose anyone to 10s of thousands of additional costs in addition to the Mickey Mouse estimate you gave me. You just didnt have the back bone to pick up the phone and respond one way or another. Thats on you and no one else.

Happy I got a recommendation from them! They were on time, every single day. Sometimes even came earlier.I am happy to be a customer and will use them again for any future projects. They rebuilt my sun deck. Looks great! Will have to post pictures soon

Had some major renovations at my house and wanted to renew my sun deck as well. I immediately called Capital deck. Andre and Philip were great people who helped me out. They came in and gave me a quote the next day. You can tell they get invested with their customers. Thats what i love, equality. Thanks for helping me out and making my sun deck beautiful again!

I called capital deck because I had a leak in my tile balcony. Andre came out 2 days later, measured, and sent me an estimate the same day. He was clean, seemed professional, and knew what he was talking about. The estimate came in a bit higher then I expected, but thats because they had to remove all the tile and start over. One of the other companies estimates tried to patch it, and another was a bit cheaper, but I went with capital deck because they have 30 years of experience doing these balconies. And its guaranteed. Martin came out, and was great. He and his crew finished the job in 4 days and its ready for my tile guy. Great communication the whole time, some wood was bad, so there was a couple of extra cost additions I wasnt happy with, but they showed me the bad wood when the deck was open so I could see for myself. Overall good job, I would hire again.

Ive worked alongside Philip and his team to learn a little bit about capital decking. They redid my parents home and replaced the sun deck and fixed a balcony leak as well. It was interesting to learn about homes and what responsibilities come with them. Thank you Philip for helping our family and allowing me to shadow you!

Capital deck & stair waterproofing has served a great purpose for us. They saved us & for that I am super grateful that they were able to help us out. We had a major leak and they repaired it and fixed it within the week.

I went through a rough patch with a different company and once i transferred over to Capital Deck I knew they were the right ones. You felt it through their environment...that it just felt right. Philip was able to hook me up with a good price and and assure me that my stairwell leak would be done correctly and in no time. He promised just that and it includes warranty too !!! Def going back to them for any issues I have lol. hopefully i dont though.

They came in originally to replace my sun deck, but ended up telling me that my balcony was leaking as well. They were a great team to work alongside with for a couple of weeks. They understood the time crunch i had, given I work and were so great with figuring out prices as well. Thank you to Martin and Andre for setting this all up for me!

Couldn’t find too many companies that waterproof stairs, but came across Capital deck through yelp. They had so many reviews, compared to the other ones that have a few (and were bad). They are killing it and I know why. They are a great team. First, I called in to make an appointment. Philip the boss assisted me and helped make the appointment on a day I could miss work. Martin and Cesar both came in and did the job within a few weeks. I even trusted them to be alone for a few hours. Great experience!

It came time to waterproof our patio not too long ago but because wed put off doing it for too long and there was some pretty ugly damage that they fixed before sealing it for good. The estimate was fair compared to other companies and the service was excellent- straightforward, kind, helpful. Hopefully there wont be a need, but if there is a leak, Im calling Capital Deck and Stair!

Locally needed to find a place to fix my sun deck. Looked it up & found Capital Deck.. Coincidentally found them and got a referral by a friend. Once I heard the names Andre & Steve, It clicked that I had heard their names elsewhere. Glad I went with this company. They were great. They gave us a quote a few days later after calling in. They were on time & started as quickly as they could to rebuild the sun deck.

Called Capital Deck because I was in need of fixing our leaking stairs. Never had that before…definitely something new I have experienced. Got a recommendation & saw that Capital Deck had great reviews on yelp as well. Decided to try them out & loved the experience.

I was able to replace my sun deck with Capital deck and Stair Waterproofing just about a week ago. Unfortunately, the company who did it before messed up, which is why i needed a new and more professional company to come in and fix the issue. Response rate was quick. Professional company and workers.

Ok so this is only my second review, but I had to rate a company that I recently used 😊 I interacted a lot with philip and andre. Any hesitation or question I would have, they would address it immediately and would make me feel at ease. I think that their credibility of doing this for 30 years drew me into using them over other companies. Andre was great at overseeing the employees, but Martin really knew his stuff too. They repaired my stair leak outside of my home. They were very detailed and structured. Since some of the wood got damaged/ruined, the first thing they did was warn me and let me know that the cost would ultimately go up in price because of something they never anticipated. I was upset at first just because of the price adjustments, but it’s not like it was intentional or their fault.I completely understand how the business works and what it requires and how nothing is always guaranteed, but what I loved most is the communication and honesty they projected with me right away. If any of you are looking to hire them, I would. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!

Got my sun deck fixed just recently through Capital Deck! Couldnt be happier with the results and their magnificent team. They were great people to work with and talk to everyday for a while.

Balcony leaks aren’t simple. Had to call quickly before the damages would continue. Terrible situation, but Capital Deck came to help us.
