My deck leaked in the big storms earlier this year and I reached out to several companies to get estimates. I ended up selecting Franklin and his team at West Coast Deck. They were not the low bidder, but Franklin was the most knowledgeable and experienced of the guys who provided me estimates and his bid was in the ballpark of the other decking specialists. Also, WCD uses all their own crews (not subcontractors). The work was scheduled, the crews showed up on time and I am happy with the results.I would definitely recommend WCD.

I had a puzzling major leak off a deck which West Coast had waterproofed!! There was no obvious sign of deck failure and I was scared to death.Frank, the owner, IMMEDIATELY got back to me, smartly suggested an expert leak detection company, AFOX, and offered to pay if it were West Coast’s problem.That put me at considerable ease.But the morning before the scheduled inspection, I was SO nervous. Frank nicely talked to me, assuring me that whatever was wrong, he would take care of it if it was a West Coast problem or find the right contractor to help.AFOX was excellent and, as it turns out, the problem was the lack of caulking and other problems unrelated to West Coast work.Frank’s genuine concern was a tremendous relief!!!!!Also, worth mentioning, everytime I use West Coast (I have several balconies), his workers have been EXTREMELY competent!!Highly recommend!!

One of the best companies I’ve ever worked with. Major leak on my 2nd floor patio deck draining into my garage below. After consulting with various waterproofing firms I settled on West Coast Decking Waterproofing. They are fully licensed, bonded, and insured, but their 30 years experience in both residential and commercial was a key factor. Franklin Castillo (owner) came to survey my property with a Forman and answered all my questions and spent time explaining the waterproofing process. The work performed was of the highest quality and workmanship. They only use the best quality materials with everything up to code and standards. West Coast Decking and Waterproofing repaired and coated the magnesite steps and walks at my small apartment building. Theywere cracked and leaking into the substructure. I had gotten several bidsbut was impressed with Franks knowledge of the materials and process he uses. His crew worked well with the comings and goings of my tenants. West Coast stood behind their work and made sure I was completely satisfied with the job before they left.

I hired West Coast Deck & Waterproofing after consulting with a total of 4 waterproofing companies. I chose West Coast based on Franklins proposal and his expertise. He is sincere and always wanting to help. He is also easy to communicate with. When a couple of issues arise, he sent his field manager Steve to investigate the issues the next day. He and his crews took care of our leaky front/back balconies and our front porch in a timely manner. I had a great experience working with West Coast and would recommend it to anyone!

From the initial visit and estimate by Franklin and Esteban, to the interactions with the office staff, and the installation by Francisco and Angel, everyone was friendly, professional, and very good at their jobs. The final product was fantastic, and we couldn’t be happier with Westcoast Deck Waterproofing.

Franklin the owner is very knowledgable. Youd be surprised with how many Decking people out there that cannot provide a straight answer. They were also very responsible. They came out 2 more times after the completion of the job, because the top coat wasnt to the clients satisfactory. We will definitely be extending warranty with them in the future.

Do not use these guys. They don’t know what they are doing. We hired WCD to completely redo our deck. They seemed professional and we initially thought they did a good job. Then the rain came and we noticed lots of pooling. They were supposed to reslope our deck as needed, but they didn’t do any resloping. They honored their warranty and re-sloped the problem areas at the same price as in our contract. We told WCD that they should remove our AC unit to make sure it was done correctly. They promised that they did not need to remove the AC and even specified that in the contract. Well, now there is new pooling behind our AC. These guys didn’t do it right the first or second time. Now we are stuck with them since they have warranted our deck for ten years. So let’s hope they can do it a third time. Don’t make the mistake I did. Go elsewhere.

West Coast has been a huge help, with excellent communication, easy to get a thorough quote, and great work. I had a large balcony project with moving parts and different vendors for a building I managed, and they kept me and the owner informed every step of the way.

I got a wide range of quotes and finally over 18 months or so was able to afford my steps and landing for my house to be waterproofed. I used these guys as they had the best quote.I had to make two adjustments to the work which increased the quote but Im Verry happy for the upgrades and Im loving the work they did. The two workmen were VERY nice and clean and responsible and friendly and always on time. Highly recommend. Really loving my new steps and landing.

We interviewed many companies, West coast came out gave us a quote but also gave us the lay out of what any extra possible expenses could be. We felt they were fair and got the job done on time.

This whole team is great! I had a leak on a deck that sits on top of my garage. The deck had been repaired twice before (not by West Coast) for leaks. They came out and explained why previous repairs did not work and what the best path options were for my situation. They offered great suggestions and ultimately helped me arrive at a solution that was within my budget. The workers were great onsite. They were respectful and cleaned up every day, including cleaning up in my garage where errant debris landed due to the location of the work. West Coast Deck Waterproofing is in my book 5 stars when it comes to everything a reputable business should be . The crew i was assigned was the best . The Foreman applicator Esvin and the Assistant applicator Victor were professional, knowledgable and so nice. I highly recommend them if you are going to use West Coast Deck . But regardless i highly recommend West Coast Deck Waterproofing :)

I discovered that my balcony was leaking due to the rain from last year. West Coast Deck and Waterproofing was recommended to me by a friend of my brother, and since I trusted my brother and his friend, I didnt bother to shop around for pricing. I immediately called WCDW to give me an estimate, and if the cost to repair my balcony was reasonable, I planned to have WCDW resurface and waterproof it.During the time that WCDW was working on repairing my balcony, there were a few hiccups along the way. However, despite these minor setbacks, I must say that WCDW did a wonderful job on waterproofing my balcony. Im thrilled with the color, the surface texture (which is easy to clean by simply hosing it down or sweeping), and most importantly, there are no more leaks.My neighbors have also seen the finished product and inquired about it. I wholeheartedly recommended WCDW to them and provided Franks phone number in case they need any repairs for their balconies.

Wonderful experience. I felt taken care of from start to finish. I had a half dozen waterproof companies quote my deck, but i knew instantly that West Coast was my choice. I would be happy to vouch for this company. If Frank the owner was to call and ask me to speak to a potential customer i would gladly. They are such a group of pros from the secretary , to the installers, to the owner, etc. I am so happy that I hired these guys. West Coast Decking does a great job. I used them for 3 projects so far, and I am really satisfied with their work. My first project was supposed to be just a simple waterproofing project. After seen how bad the framing below my old deck was from water and termite damage, I had to replace a lot more. luckily WCD gave me a great deal on the additional work and kept on track to complete by my original completion date. my second project with them was smooth as well they came in gave me samples to review with my clients and scheduled me in on the dates I requested.
