Prime Electric

Prime Electric was very professional and completed my lighting and electric project just as I wanted and was needed. The recessed lights are a great addition to the aesthetic of our living room. The electrical connection was done as specified by our HVAC installer. Ben and his team were great to work with and had great communication with my other installers to ensure the project was done correctly. I will definitely use and recommend Prime Electric for future jobs.

I contracted with Prime to do a full day of work in our garage including wiring for interior and exterior lights, exhaust fan, door opener as well as outlets. Josh did a great job. Very neat and precise work. Well definitely use them again.

My pool pump stopped working and i found out that there was not enough electrical power going to the pump and junction box and all that. I did a lot of research to find the right electrician to do the work. I hired Prime to install a new 20 amp for the pump. They also installed some junction boxes, ran some cords under the house, dug a small trench for the electrical stuff. I appreciated how thorough they were. During the estimate, they explained everything that needed to be done to get my pool electrical up and running. The old pool electrical was corroded and at least 15-20 years old. They did it all in about a day, brought it up to code and did amazing work. I will definitely hire them again.

Very impress with their business model. JR., my service tech was very informative and patient with my questions. I felt they actually listen and did everything they can to make me the customer very happy. In the future if I need any electrical work they are the ones to call. I strongly recommend them for anyone who needs an electrician.

Arturo and Omar were nothing short of amazing. They came, assessed, and fixed out the issue I had with my 3 smoke detectors promptly. They were professional, clean, and thorough. Prime Electric was transparent and communicative throughout the entire process in regards to scheduling an appointment and pricing. I now know where to go to whenever I have electrical issues.

I live out of state. My tenant notified me that she had no electricity, and that DWP came out and said she needed a new breaker. I called several companies trying to find an electrician that I felt comfortable hiring, over the phone. Therese, the office manager was very accommodating, professional understanding of the urgency, and sweet. I felt very comfortable and confident hiring this company without a referral. Jamie informed me when he arrived, got the job done, and changed out the breaker. My tenant had lights once again. Brian the owner called and went over the findings and invoice with me. They will be my electricians for any future electrical needs. It’s not easy managing 3 apartment buildings while living in another state. Today Prime electric made it easy for me. Thank you. Another Edit… we had Prime come back again for our third job! They are our trusted go-to electricians now. They may be a little higher in pricing, but I don’t really think so?!? But more importantly, is that they show up for estimates, get the estimate done quickly, send happy and hard working electricians, and do a thorough job and clean up afterwards! I had moved my car so they could park in the driveway because we are on a narrow street, but their van this time was huge and still didn’t fit. Which the city garbage trucks don’t like, but next time we call Prime, we will make sure they don’t do the work on Garbage day. This visit they did normal electrician work, but also cut down a cord from a neon sign that was way too long for the space, put the new outlet out of sight behind the sign, and made sure it worked before he left. It didn’t work before. So happy with this guys work and jovial attitude while he worked. He’s a keeper! And Ben, who gives the estimate, is always honest about what work he would do, whether it’s cost effective or not, vs just taking the job and making bank on the project! I thought about waiting to do the review until afterwards, but will update if I need to.But this review is for the ease and responsiveness of Prime Electric. I have literally been trying to get honest contractors out to the house for almost a year. It is extremely difficult. Got one that promising to call back. Never did. Got another that gave me an enormous quote to search for all of the issues. Another who showed up to repair one fuse, but couldn’t get him to come back out for a bigger longer list. And still another who keeps promising to call and give an estimate, and still nothing. I chose Prime because they said they could do a quote by photos. Our job has too many components. The manager came out within 2 days and said he get our quote back to us in two days. He seemed uber honest and up front. Which is all we really want in a business we work with. So we are hopeful this will work out! Very hopeful for now! At a minimum it was refreshing to get honest feedback and his responsiveness to helping us out quickly with an estimate.Part two… the work. We had 3 days of work scheduled mid Nov but then the house caught Covid. We let them know and for Prime to decide if they wanted to proceed. And they happily rescheduled for the end of the month. The work was done over 3 days. We had one glitch, but glitches happen. They quickly remedied it and we are the type of people that know things happen and it’s how you rectify the situation that matters. They were professional. I trust in the work they did. They gave a reasonable estimate in comparison to other companies. And I feel more confident that our house isnt going to burn down from previous electrical/existing work done. If I were better at names, I would call out all of the workers that worked in the home that did a great job. I can only remember Louis name (sorry guys), but they were all hard working, respectful, and listened when I had questions. Great employees! I will definitely call Prime for our next discovery of inferior work done previously when the house was built. Fingers crossed it won’t happen!

Friendly and easy appointment set-up, likewise the technicians who showed up at the house. It was all great, start to finish.

They did a great job, finishing on time. Too bad they are in such demand, that caused them to show up later than expected.

We had a huge power surge which tripped one of our breakers. We were afraid to turn it back on since we had an electrical burning smell in one of our rooms. We called a few electricians, but none could come out same day except Prime Electric. Ben from Prime Electric was very nice and knowledgeable. He checked out main electrical panel and was able to pinpoint the electrical smell. He turned on the breaker and assured us we could would be fine but that we should replace our main panel in the future. I would definitely recommend Prime Electric.

On 12/11/2024 I had Prime Electric come to my house to inspect a potential wiring problem. During the inspection we found there was no electrical problem but the device connected was the problem, which, by the way, was a very inexpensive fix. I then asked for a quote on installing some additional gfci plugs and wiring for outdoor use and lighting for my basement workshop were I was very pleased with the quote. When the job was scheduled and completed it was excellent! The crew was professional, polite and easy to work with Ben, who is a very nice guy, came out to follow up and gave me insights for some ideas I have for the future. It was an excellent experience!

I have used them for years for multiple electrical problems. There electricians are polite and knowledgeable. If there is a real power emergency they are so helpful. We often work with Ben B. and he always fixes the problem above and beyond our expectations . We totally trust his assessment of our power problems and the guys that work for him are also very polite & professional. They are worth the price. Not inexpensive. But we think they are worth it. They stand behind there work too!

Very prompt, arrived on time. Very professional, knew what they were doing. After a botched job by an appliance installation company, they came in and ran correctly grounded wiring to a new outlet. I can now sleep better at night. We are know looking into a panel upgrade with them.

The day of our appointment they called to tell us they were running ahead of schedule and could come early if we wanted! Ben and Miguel were great! We walked through everything we were having issues with and they wrote up a detailed quote. We had a couple 3 way switches that needed to be re-wired for smart switches, a couple dimmers installed, wiring cleaned up in a couple boxes, etc. Ben and Miguel were so relaxed and kind. There was no pressure to decide anything too quickly or attempts to upsell anything. They spent a good 45min+ answering questions and going over the planned work before we gave the green light. And if we didn’t want any of the work done it would’ve only cost us $90 for the visit. More than fair. Highly recommended! If you’re stressed about an electrical issue this place will put you at ease.

Prime Electric provide prompt service (ceiling fan installation) and the job was done quickly and to our satisfaction. The guys vacuumed and cleaned up the area when finish and the job was done at a good price. We would definitely use them again.

We needed someone last minute over the weekend and he came through and helped us!Ben is efficient, trustworthy and goes the extra mile to make sure we’re satisfied with his service! I thought they were just here to give me a quote, but they said they could do the whole install. 2 guys, very professional, cleaned up after themselves, installed the plug in the orientation I need for my charger, and got everything done in less than 2 hours. And that included a trip to get a 50 amp circuit breaker.

The people from Prime were courteous and on time. They analyzed the problem and clearly presented my options for repair. The price seemed reasonable so I had them repair the wiring. They tested the whole system associated with the problem and they repaired the problem. They also suggested additional services that I might need, so I asked them to provide estimates. I will certainly use them again with any future electrical needs.

OUTSTANDING! Ben and Miguel came by today to look at some light switches. It was obvious that whomever did the previous electric work did not care about codes or safety. Ben was very patient and clear when explaining the issue he found and made a point that safety always comes first with him. As a family man I greatly appreciated and respected this. Ben gave me a great price and did a great job of repairing the faulty work of the previous electrician (not with Prime Electric). I have already scheduled a follow up to have full home inspection by Ben. Ben and Prime Electric will be my go-to from now on. Thanks!

Follow up to my experience. After Ben the owner came out to rectify the upsetting situation I was feeling pretty good. Well, I have received ZERO follow-up, no calls, no emails from them to accomplish the project quote. Waste of time

I used Ben of Prime Electric on an apartment building I was renovating and was very pleased with his service. He was able to give me an estimate on the spot and when he came back to do the job, I received a text message telling me he was on his way. The scope of work included replacing the exterior lighting on an 8-unit apartment building, adding outlets to the common areas, upgrading the car port lighting with LED lighting, and replace all of the Exit signs on site. Ben was quick and thorough with his estimation, his responses to my inquiries, the work itself, and the invoicing. All in all, he was very pleasant and professional to work with. I look forward to using them on other projects in the future.

Ben and his team were tremendous in getting our job done well. They came on time and were very professional. Ben and his team had to install a CAT-6 wire from our home to our detached garage/studio. The job was challenging when it came to getting the wire work done from underneath that home to underneath the ground and then up into the detached garage/studio, but they got it all done. We can’t thank Ben and his team enough for the excellent work they did and we are very satisfied. Our Wi-Fi now works throughout the house and the detached garage/studio a lot more efficiently. Ive been calling on Ben at Prime Electric for years. I have an older house that is always in need of repairs. Ben is quick, friendly, and honest. When money has been an issue with me, he gives his opinion what should be done. He will give me a temporary fix, and a permonate fix solution. Its very nice knowing he is not out to rip you off. Ive used several other electricians in the past. Now.... I ONLY CALL BEN.

I was very happy with the actual work done, because the two-man team arrived promptly and completed the work efficiently and to a high standard. What bothered me was how the lead electrician spoke to his assistant in an often condescending and rude tone. I expect him to treat and talk to his coworker the same way he’d talk to me, and it all honestly felt very “white man hierarchy” in the way he spoke to his PoC coworker. As a person of color myself it made me feel uncomfortable but above everything just annoyed at what I was witnessing, and I think these kinds of dynamics in the workplace are toxic and often lead to bigger problems. Consequently I personally will not use this company again.

Amazing work!I called Prime Electric looking for a sleek wireless installation and solution for my TV that has many peripherals connected to it, Ben came over and took a look suggesting to make the coat closet on the other side of the living room to an instrument room, I went for that solution and the team came over to install it, after a long day of work when they installed a fan with light switch in the closet and created receptacle for the instruments, they then stretched the wires through the attict to create the most sleek looking and efficient wireless installation... amazing work and incredible professionalism! I want to speak in the strongest possible terms. I hired Prime Electric to undertake a major rewiring of an old property. The team worked diligently for three days, at which time final invoices were paid and our contract was completed. Over subsequent months, however, problems became evident. Following an unexpected short-circuit, I reached out to Prime to express concerns. A team was dispatched to confirm that some mistakes had been made. As I later expressed to the owner, Prime Electric is not the first contractor in my hire to have committed errors in the course of a difficult job. However, they are the very first contractor to have owned up candidly and set to work, free-of-charge, to remedy any problems and leave my property in finely polished form. The returning team worked tirelessly from dawn to dusk, and took the extra time to ensure that their work would speak for itself. This is the rarest of companies. They are honest, ethical, and willing to go the distance even when a more dismissive stance would have been more profitable. That is not my opinion; it is simply the factual evidence.

Prime came out next day to wire up my jacuzzi - Ben had been out for a previous job. Very professional and courteous.

Only would set up appointment with a credit card on file, prior to having a relationship or service evaluation. Very inflexible when I indicated that I did not feel comfortable storing my card without a prior relationship.

I never leave reviews but this one is super well deserved. If you are sick and tired of being charged 300 times what is needed for a service these are your guys. They arrived right on time and sent us a message with a picture of who they were! Julio and Brian then did a diagnosis of what the issue was and mentioned that it was because of the rain and humidity. Now being dried probably our issue would be resolved. But that was not only it… on their way out I asked them about an outdoor light and they fixed it in 5 mins. What they don’t know is that around 6 months ago I had called another team from a different company and they told me I should replace the whole fixture!!! And they charged me a lot for basically not doing anything! Call these guys and save yourself from a headache.

Not only did he install a new electrical line with dimmer, he sourced a key missing part to my chandelier that looks amazing. Weve had a switch on our circuit breaker panel that had intermittently shorted on our house every so often for 3 years. Well it recently had been pouring rain and the same switch shorted again. In the past, Id been told we may need completely new wiring or its just a faulty switch by different electricians (our house is new construction). So previously, simply turning the switch off, waiting and then back on was a simple fix. Tonight, the switch sparked and smoked multiple times with our simple fix and I noticed water on the switch itself. This seemed like a major safety issue to me. I called about 5 companies with good reviews on Yelp who said they were available and open 24/7. Prime Electric was the only one who called back and within 15 minutes. I discussed the problem thoroughly on the phone with Ben as it was 8:30 pm on a Saturday night (awesome) and he upfront gave me his most honest assessment and feedback for almost 30 mins. He sounded extremely knowledgeable and so we had him come out that night. He showed up within the hour and was extremely professional, completed a thorough repair and even checked our safety lights when asked (which was out of just being a nice guy). He said his work carries a lifetime warranty and we were completely satisfied. The visit turned out to be worth the emergency rate as water and electricity dont mix and my familys safety is my priority. Great job guys. I’ve called Prime on three occasions now for jobs in my small restaurant and have never been disappointed. Ben and his dad always notify when they are enroute to the job, give a thorough quote and do not leave a job done less than perfect. I’m a particular customer that wouldn’t ordinarily cold call a contractor out of the yellow pages, but I found myself in a spot and ended up using these guys thrice...in my kitchen...that should say it all.

80% through updating all the light switches and outlets throughout our house I ran into a problem. I had been careful with placing each wire in the same position on the new hardware but when I turned the power back on for our bathroom, several switches and a socket did not work. I am not an electrician but I am reasonably handy and did the best I could to ensure I had replicated the previous wiring. When I had tried everything I could think of to fix the problem we found a highly rated electrician to come by and mend the issue. Ben from Prime Electric proved to be very competent, pleasant to talk to, and actually took the time to answer my questions and talk me through what he was doing.
