Called to find out about having all my 1929 bungalows windows restored. When I asked if they serviced North Hollywood, the answer was, Um not really. So their website which proclaims on the top of its front page, SOUTHERN CALIFORNIAS PREMIER WINDOW RESTORATION COMPANY is inaccurate. Also FYI he said they do not use bronze spring weather stripping, they use silicone. This search to try to find a company to restore old windows continues!

These guys are the best! We have an old 112 year old craftsman which had some stuck double hung windows, no weather stripping on any fenestrations and giant gaps in our casement windows. They did the most incredible job restoring them. There was a casement window that we wanted double hung, and we ended up asking them to fabricate that one and another new window as well. We had fire damage right after Nick and his team restored our windows. I called him again and he managed to squeeze us in and fixed all of newly damaged ones in a day. After dealing with other contractors, Nick and his team were such a pleasure to deal with - they are fast, efficient and went above and beyond for us! Highly recommend.

Posting what I shared on Yelp:I really dont know why there are so many 5 star reviews because my experience with American Window Restoration was really disappointing. First, like everyone says, the wait time is about three months. In those three months youll never know if youre in the queue or not. You just hope and pray youll hear back from Nick the owner. I was hopeful and waited because of all of these great reviews, but please dont waste your time or money.Nick is a nice guy, sure, but he shouldnt be the owner, scheduler and project manager. This guy does not have the time. He wants to get through jobs quickly. He installs window stripping and locks in colors he doesnt run by you, the customer, first. It was just a lot of no communication and then a nearly $4K invoice after everything was not said and thoughtlessly done. One star given because he did reduce the invoice because of all the miscommunication. The kicker, Nick is so bad at communicating and has no time that even trying to pay the invoice took weeks because it would take him days/a week to get back with information on how to pay him.I deeply regret working with Nick and am posting this negative review so that you dont have to regret it either.

Nick and his team at American Window Restoration are true professionals providing expertise and service that is second to none. With a team that is in incredibly high demand it is understandable why as their work ethic tireless, care of repairs top quality and pricing better than their competitors. Were grateful that American Window Restoration accepted the window restoration job on our recently purchased 1938 Spanish. If you are in need of restoration services I highly recommend you start your search with Nick and confident that youll not need to search for any other bids. A HUGE thanks to Scott, Jeremiah, Dante and Josiah who alongside Nick earned the 5-Star review and if we could throw out a 6th we would.

I own a 1935 house in a historic neighborhood. The windows are original, they were drafty, and they needed help to work properly. Nick came out and gave me a very reasonable quote. He sent Sean and another guy to do the work. Now the windows work like they did almost 100 years ago. They also installed weatherstripping systems for energy efficiency. Highly recommend!!

Nick came to my home built in 1936 with original steel windows. He was very transparent and told me my windows were in great condition and he didnt feel right taking my money because there was much for him to do. Its rare to come across folks that prioritize honesty over making a profit. I appreciate how genuine Nick was and hope to use him on a future home remodel.

Nick and his crew were great! We were looking to replace our windows and restore them as close to the original 1920 Spanish as we could. Nick was the right person. Efficient, responsible, and a true artisan. We loved watching him make the windows in our driveway! It is clear how much pride he takes in his work. We couldnt be happier with the result. Highly recommend!

Could not be happier. We had windows and doors in an entire 100 year old house and two associated buildings restored by Nick and his colleagues at American window restoration. They transformed everything from noisy, leaky, creaky and stuck, to functional, quiet, and sealed. Whats more impressive is that they did so with no mess, no fuss and no bother. Im annoyingly meticulous and demanding, and my wife is bothered by just about any intrusion into her routine or space. But Nick and his crew were so easy to work with and professional that the experience was actually pleasant. Now we have a totally different experience inside the house without the catastrophic hassles or cost that would have been associated with replacing windows. Id recommend them in a heartbeat and work with them again if we needed anything they do.
