South Bay Plumbing and Heating

I recently hired Jay the plumber to fix a leak in my bathroom, but unfortunately, the experience was far from satisfactory. Despite promising prompt service, Jay arrived hours later than scheduled without any explanation or apology.Furthermore, his workmanship left much to be desired. The repair he conducted seemed rushed and incomplete, as the leak reappeared shortly after he left. When I attempted to contact him for follow-up assistance, he was unresponsive and unwilling to address the issue.Overall, I was deeply disappointed with Jays professionalism and the quality of his work. I would caution others to think twice before engaging his services.

We have had South Bay Plumbing and Heating come to our home 4 times in the last 2 weeks. Each time a new issue.They called back immediately and assured us they would come the day we called.The work, the care they took inside our home, the price and the consideration they took in explaining everything to us was top notch.Matt was at our home for all 4 jobs and Jay, the owner, came to check and work on the sewer issue. Both excellent!We had dirty sewage overflow in one bathroom, back up in the sewer line, and broken pipe in the kitchen - all of which got taken care of within hours of our phone calls.With 4 times coming to our home, we can say that their consistency says everything positive about working with them.

First off, Jay the business owner is one of the nicest guys youll meet in the plumbing business. My mothers house had a leak causing quite a bit of water damage. I reached out to several plumbers,and Jay was the first to respond and was available to meet the very next morning. He was considerate about our urgent timeline and did his best to match our schedule.He and his team were meticulous in finding exact location of the leak, and thorough in making sure all areas were completely dry before the patching work. Specifically, even though the area felt completely dry to the touch, Jay insisted on one more day of dehumidifier/fan to do a complete job and didnt charge us extra for the extra day of equipment. Jay appears to have high standards, and he was onsite for most of the job to ensure quality work from his team. His estimate was fair, and 100% worth the price. His accounting is also very professional, using Quickbooks and detailed itemized list of the work done.In addition, both my mom and I were very happy with Martin, who Jay partners with for dry wall patching and painting. Martin gave us a very fair estimate. His work was top notch. He matched our custom paint perfectly and even found the exact same base boards to replace the ones that were damaged by the leak. The area now looks better than before the leak. We were so impressed with Martins work, we hired him for another job right away.

Have used Jay and South Bay Plumbing for over 15 years. He is my GO TO Plumber and trusted advisor. Hes extremely professional, does what he says, always fixes my problem and is very fair with pricing. Cant say enough about him and his work. For me, trust is #1.

My experience with them was totally frustrating. They were good about sending a plumber the next day after I called . He came on time but said the job needed two men and his boss wud call me that afternoon with a cost estimate. I never received the estimate and despite calling five different times, never got them on the phone again, only their answering service. I used another plumber. One man fixed the problem.

Ive used South Bay Plumbing twice now and will continue to support local. Jay has been very responsive when I call and does a very thorough job. He doesnt BS you and try to talk you into things you dont need, just tells you what the problem is, options to fix it, and points out other potential problems.

Had our kitchen sink back up Sunday night. Called South Bay Plumbing early Monday morning. Matthew showed up about 8 am and had the sink cleared about an hour later. Matt was extremely neat and courteous. He brought up a large moving blanket to protect the kitchen floor, a bucket large enough to put the P- trap in (without spilling the water in it). He also had clean cloths, which he used to wipe off the mechanical snake (as he retracted it), so as not to cause a mess under the sink.When done, the are under the sink was as clean and dry as it was when Matt arrived. Very quick, efficient service. Very, very happy!

Have used this company multiple times now and it’s always a good experience. Plumbing and water issues are never fun, but dealing with them thru these guys makes it bearable. They’re efficient, communicate well, and they don’t over-charge. They’re my go-to guys.

Terrible service and terrible owner. They way overcharge compared to other companies. The owner swears like a sailor if you question them and smells like he chugged a gallon of vodka before showing up and could barely get a coherent sentence out. Call literally anyone except Jay and South Bay

I cant say enough about this company. Jay took the time to return my call after hours and didnt want to leave me hanging. He sent two of his crew out the next day to check everything out to see if I had a leak ( from a unusually high water bill ) Matthew explained everything in thorough detail and was very professional. Their charge was fair and I didnt feel like I was gouged like so many other experiences from other plumbers. I highly recommend this co. and will let all of my friends and neighbors know about them.

Had a sump pump fail early in the morning during the tail end of a rainstorm and more heavy rain was predicted within 48 hours. These guys showed up fast and they had the sump pump diagnosed, replaced, and up and running before the big storms hit. I had previously used them and was happy with their responsiveness then. This latest event cemented things- I don;t think I will ever use anyone else!

South Bay plumbing did an excellent job for us! We called in the morning with a clogged kitchen sink - Jay the owner answered my call, he rearranged the schedule of his plumber Matt so he could come to our home next. They came within 75 minutes of my call for service. Matt was awesome, unclogged our sink and completely wiped down and cleaned the entire area he worked in. I highly recommend them!

I called this morning about a broken drain, and they were able to squeeze me in for an afternoon appointment. Had a great experience and they even helped me out and caulked something in my shower until I could get the grout repair guy out as well. Would definitely use again. Super happy with my experience!

I had a major sink blockage and they were ableTo stop by the same day. Matt and his colleague were very polite and explained to me exactly what they were doing to fix the drain. The cost was very reasonable. I would absolutely call them again.

Nothing but praise for Jay and his crew. I have used Jay a couple times at different properties (tankless water heater repair and water line leak in a front yard). Showed up promptly both times and fixed issues right away. Service is first rate and pricing is way better than commercial plumbers that service all over the place. He is very knowledgeable and doesn’t try to up-sell you with problems that aren’t there. 100% chance I would use again if needed...highly recommend!

Jay, the owner of “South Bay Plumbing and Heating” is an exceptional example of plumbing and heating knowledge and repair. I would never contact any other plumbing and heating businesses. He immediately diagnoses my plumbing and heating problems/needs and has serviced my vintage beach house for the past 5 years. I feel comfortable and secure having Jay and South Bay Plumbing and Heating employees in my home and wouldn’t hesitate leaving him a key, though he has never asked. Thanks Jay!! You’re the best!!

Best in the business! Jay & his crew are second to none. Really quick response time, friendly, professional! Worked my broken heater in to his schedule the same day when it was pretty cold! He installed the heater properly and fixed the issue (which so cal gas as well as the original installer failed to do). Highly recommend! Thank you again Jay!
