My experience was very similar to the previous reviewers. ATI contracts with Sears. A guy shows up to install my new dishwasher, then says he cant until I have $820 worth of plumbing done. This is in addition to the installation fee Ive already paid Sears. It was very frustrating and took several weeks and lots of money to resolve. The customer service is sorely lacking.
The installer from ATI came on time and installed our new dishwasher from Sears. The first thing he said was I needed a new air gap and said he could do it for $150. I quickly looked up air gap and found out it costs $10-$20 and the 3min youtube installation looked super simple so I declined. Also, my air gap didnt need to be replaced. After the installation, my dishwasher was sticking out way farther than I anticipated to the point the drawers next to it could not be opened. I suppose it wasnt his fault that he couldnt push it all the way back, but I wish he had informed me before he installed it. I had to pay another contractor to come and cut a wooden 4x4 that was preventing it from being pushed in all the way.I give them 2-stars for technically doing what they were supposed to do
Unfortunately, like others in this review thread, I was scammed by ATI installation. I never write reviews but felt compelled to at least try and save someone the headache and financial impact that this shady business inflicts on people. If you order an appliance from Sears and this is the company they are sending, simply refuse. Dont read this and think your story will be different. You will regret this slimy company coming out to your house. The $150.00 installation charge that you pay sears does not cover any work this company will need to do. There will guarantee be additional charges when ATI arrives at your house, for the simple fact that every installation requires work, and ATI will bill you for this work. Please do not let them continue to exist.
Very poor customer service. Sears uses them to install appliances. They came to install a dishwasher and charged me an additional $240 dollars to replace an airgap and an angle stop valve on top of what I already paid Sears for the installation ($140). Both repairs took 15 minutes total. Then then left my water off! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! I REPEAT...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!I went online at Home Depot and an air gap costs $21.86 and an angle stop costs $8.00. So how did we get to $240.00...COMPLETE RIP OFF THATS HOW!!!
Horrible service...we needed to get our Kenmore Dishwasher installed and Sears sent over this company...what a mistake. One of the first things the installer wanted was $125 for a new electrical plug...and he hadnt even pulled out the old dishwasher yet. I wanted him to explain the problem and how he knew without pulling the dishwasher out but he was unable to explain it well because his English was so bad...he had a heavy, heavy, accent and his grasp of English vocabulary was extremely limited...I received no adequate explanation! He then mumbled something in unintelligible English about the air gap plug which I didnt understand either. We let him do the work because we didnt want the hassle of scheduling someone else to do it. But, because he was unable to adequately explain his work, we felt we were taken advantage of because of our need to get the dishwasher installed.Sears should find a new company to install their appliances...I will certainly let them know!
THEY ARE A RIP OFF!!!!!!!I bought appliances from Sears and they used ATI to install. They completely gouged me on additional modifications for every appliance. If you order anything from Sears, us your own installer or just go somewhere else.
I dont want to give this company even a one star. worst company. they told me the dishwasher we bought would not fit the space. then they told us they would not return it until they had another pick up from that location. they dishwashers are all the same size and it should fit. this is crazy. they were late on coming also. if sears tells you they have a company to install, say no. we paid 134 for this company and it is actually only 98 thru our personal plumber. however they are holding on to our dishwasher. we dont even have it!!!! it is our property that we paid for. we will be doing whatever we can to make sure this business looses the license to do business. if you hear this company name run for the hills
Same experience as others who posted. Out of nowhere, told our installation will cost extra $305. Am writing Sears to add to the hordes of people telling them not to use this company.
I paid $40 down that Lowe’s sent them in. Inspector told me it’s going to be a basic installation of $95. When they send final documents to Lowe’s they asked for $500! What a joke! Stay away!
Do not use this company, their main business is extortion!!!! They will try to charge you for permits that are not required. And when you question it, their receptionist, Ashley, will yell at you.STAY AWAY
If I could give a negative star, I would have. The installation guy said I HAD to get a new outlet installed before he’d put in my dishwasher from Costco. I was charged $ for that alone. NEVER had any issue with the old outlet and the old dishwasher power cutting out mid-wash cycle. After ATI I stalled the new outlet, the dishwasher has been consistently cutting out power mid-wash cycle. Hate this bogus business. Total racket! Will report to better business bureau!!!
Totally a rip off company! I would give it a 0 star if I could. I should have read the review before I used them. They were sent by home depot to install my stove top. The quoted price from home depot was $150, then when they came, they wanted $345 additional to get it done. Being charged $495 total for this. If I knew this, my handy man would be able to do it for me for half the price. Avoid this company.
Great job done by our installer named Mark! Everything worked out above our expectations and lined up perfectly! He explained to us how to work it, as well. We (with help from our 20-something son) did our homework first: measuring our old dishwasher, researching online and physically going to Sears to check out the product. The salesperson at Sears, Neelam Chhabra, was fantasticand informed us about all of the extras, including the purchase of a power cord and water hose ($20 each). She also gave us a great price! Wont hesitate to buy from them again, and use ATI again!
THESE PEOPLE ARE A RIP OFF. DO NOT USE THEM. IF YOU BUY SOMETHING FROM SEARS THAT REQUIERES INSTALLATION, PLEASE HIRE YOUR OWN PEOPLE TO INSTALL.I bought a new dishwasher from Sears a week ago and they sent out ATI to install it. I paid Sears for the installation $149.99 plus an additional $25.00 to haul away the old dishwasher. Sears advised me that they use a company by the name of ATI that does all of their installations. When the technician arrived the very first thing he said was that I needed a new electrical plug installed for $150.00. Good thing my electrician was working at my house that day and he installed a new electrical box right away. Then the technician proceeded with the installation of the new dishwasher. After he was done, he left right away without testing the dishwasher. I asked him if everything was working properly and he said, yes. A day later after using my new dishwasher I realized that the dishwasher was not draining. I went back to Sears-Pasadena and spoke with Jose the manager at the appliance department. Jose advised me that their protocol is to send ATI back out to check the installation. ATI came back today and told me that my air vent was not working and now they wanted $165.00 to install a new air vent. I asked the technician why was not this issue checked and addressed at the time of the original installation specially when I had advised him that my old dishwasher was not draining properly. I declined to have any new work done.. Not only that, now he wanted me to pay him $65.00 for coming out to diagnose the new problem. Horrible experience. Maybe the technicians need to be properly trained or Sears has to hire a new company.
Unfortunately ALL of the terrible reviews you read about ATI are completely true. If you buy your dishwasher from Sears, have Sears deliver it for free and find a local handyman to install. You will not only save the $150 Sears charges to send this unsavory company out to you, you will spare yourself this company trying to rip you off for outrageous additional fees. Had very unpleasant words with ATI installer when he asked for another $360 in installation fees, which I refused. I was about to cancel the order and send ATI and the new dishwasher away, when he backed down and just charged me for a new hose, which I had already paid Sears for. Sears refunded me the money I had to pay ATI for the hose. Thanks Sears for the refund, but are u listening? You used to be better than this.
I have had ATI come out three times. They are the company contracted by Home Depot in my area. They did a great job installing a gas oven at my house and my parents house. The same cannot be said when they came out to install a dishwasher. The installer tried to tell me there were many other problems and gave me outrageous rates to fix these supposed problems. I said no thanks and sent him away. Called a contractor I know to send one of his plumbers. Only half the issues actually needed attending to, and for 1/4 the price that the ATI tech quoted me.
This company is a fraud stay away, they will extort money out of you and provide you with no services. Customer service is horrible all they do is scream at you if they cannot get their way, spend your money somewhere else. Also, check Yelp.
Got these guys assigned to me by Amazon!! They upsold me on the idea that my air gap was done wrong and they would have to redo it, for an additional fee beyond the installation. Not 6 months later the cap blew off the airgap and the dishwasher will not drain. And of course you cannot get them on the phone. Otherwise great experience. I had a dishwasher that worked for 14 years.
I had no problems. I was a little apprehensive as on-line reviews were pretty awful. I think the reason for that is the unknown nature of each individual installation. The installer really has no idea what they will encounter. If everything is in place and up to code then the basic installation package purchased from Sears would be sufficient. However, the unknowns include possibly replacing an angle valve, air gap problems, hard-wired electrical connection to plug-in retrofit, and problematic issues with the interior cabinet space and flooring height. All of these add significantly to the install cost. I would just suggest that consumers educate themselves a little on the reality of appliance installations. It isnt as simple as plug and play and it definitely isnt DIY for the layperson.Description of work:Replace existing dishwasher with new one, replace water supply line, bring electrical connection up to code and haul away old unit.
ATI came to install my dishwasher i bought from Sears and the installer charged me $130.00 for air gap but i checked at home depot its only 20.00, this company is a rip off . I should of checked the price first but then again he was already at the house. I dont know why they take advantage of women. I will file a complaint with Sears and better business bureau and want refund of the difference of the 130.00.Whoever is the owner of this company must inform their installers to stop this scam! I gave you 1 star for your time on a Saturday installation after a reschedule.
Lowe’s uses this company for dishwasher installation. I paid them $100 for install plus another $50 for a permit. Then ATI charged me an additional $360 for an air gap and a dual valve shut off.The man who did the install, Jeff, never told me these two changes were optional and instead told me I was going to fail an inspection and get a red tag and possibly fees. Basically, I feel like he took advantage of my plumbing ignorance and charged me a ton of money for a 50 minute job.I will be challenging the charge on my card.Bottom line, use someone else. Anyone else.
As soon as I got on the phone to schedule my installation, the incredibly rude young woman would not commit to the charges. I had already paid the Sears installation fee, and had agreed to pay the Culver City permit fee, then the woman kept saying in case the installation doesnt happen when I pressed her on this she said, oh in case you arent up to code or there are other charges. This immediately raised red flags for me. I started looking at their reviews to see how many people they had upcharged. Seems that this is what they do with most people; hundreds of dollars. My house was totally redone 3 years ago. All Im doing is replacing the cheap dishwasher I put in at the time. Im not going to be upcharged hundreds of dollars. Immediately called Sears to cancel my order. This company is a racket and their staff is rude.
I was ripped off too. ATI wanted $700 for installation, air gap and dual valve. Absolutely ridiculous. I hired a licensed plumber but Sears sent ATI twice. It took sooooo long to get my dishwasher installed and I paid through the nose with these jokers. I wouldnt shop for an appliance at Sears again because their vendors are low quality.
I would go zero stars if I could. You would be better off picking up a day laborer in front of a Home Depot. This clip joint was supposed to do a Sears job for us. He wanted over 800.00 to install it gave me a song and dance. I know how to replace a garbage disposal and dishwasher and these 2 con-men where telling me about bringing it up to code. I love the cabinetry charges for a dishwasher that is a universal size.ATI should be reported to the BBB and Rip-off report for their business practices.
They contracted with Sears to install my dishwasher. The installer shows up, barely speaks English and begins to rattle off five reasons that he couldnt do the work. I have never in my 50 years seen anyone so determined to find any reason not to do their job. Then, after I tossed the skylark from my home, he calls Sears and cancels the order so that I cant get someone competent out to do the job. ATI bills themselves as the best installation company in Southern California! What a joke ...
Horrible, plain and simple. Went to SEARS and said I just want the best because we got sick of the annual maintenance fees on our 4 year old BOSCH Dishwasher. Out the door after maintenance agreement and install fees, $1,980. ATI shows up after changing the commitment time of first install by four hours (1 days work missed), Joke of an installer Jeff, tells me I cant have the dishwasher installed the way I want because it could make it difficult to install a new one in ten years time when this new one goes out. This after and argument because he told me the new Kenmore Elite is going to suck in comparison to BOSCH, because he has had one for 9 years.Okay, Dishwasher installed and I ask why it is at least an inch further out at the bottom than the top, oh, he says ..... to make it level ...... really, I said, doesnt look level!. He pulled out his level and said, gee I wonder how that happened. He then proceeded to force open and close the door until a big groove was dug into the display ...... He forgot to screw the screw all the way in above the door, and destroyed the display. He refereed to it as a very tiny scratch when I said replace it. Couldnt read the display.... but its just a tiny scratch...... right. So in the end he set up the delivery and install of a new dishwasher for this morning between 8 & 12....... They call at 7:30 to reschedule for 10-2pm....... I reschedule more time off work. 10:00 rolls around and they inform me that they dont have the dishwasher and I need to reschedule for tomorrow and take a 3rd day off. Mind you, a number of calls were made yesterday to assure they had the dishwasher and it was ready to go today...... and at that point I would have waited if it wasnt ready!I am done being jerked around especially by a horrible and incompetent install company.Incompetent!Unprofessional installer telling me I bought a product not as good as his???? Seriously.Cant keep a commitment!I called SEARS Corporate in Illinois and told them DO NOT send anyone from ATI back to my home!Arndt & Traina Inc ..... must stand for arent they just in training to be professional!
